Restless and weary on an overnight train, a traveler, Luke finds himself enticed by a series of encounters with a shadowy stranger in a red dress.  Their conversation, casual at first, rapidly develops into a strained yet exciting relationship as the woman, an actress, draws him into her world of performance.  Spurred on by his boredom and seduced by his own curiosity, Luke steadily begins losing track of his own tenuous grip on reality.  Led to the spotlight, Luke faces the woman’s wildest demands, but is hurtled back into a clearer existence as the train slows to its journey’s end.
